Sitting on the brow of one of Funchal’s hills, affording superb 360º views of the majestic mountains, Funchal town and Atlantic Ocean, is the new Jewel in the Crown of Charming Hotels Madeira, the Quinta das Vistas Palace Gardens.

The refurbished Manor House houses the splendid classical style gourmet restaurant ‘La Belle Terrasse’, which also offers a covered veranda and terrace with breathtaking views for alfresco dining, and on the top floor, the Presidential Suite.

The spa and swimming pool complex, underneath the manor house, benefits from the same stunning views, and includes an indoor heated swimming pool leading to a hanging outdoor pool, a second heated outdoor pool, whirlpool, sauna, Turkish bath, Vichy bath, foot spa, sensations shower, fitness room, two treatment rooms and one relaxation room.

The 63 bedrooms, 3 junior suites and 4 suites are decorated in limed oak and wilton carpets and offer private bathroom with separate toilet and bidet, private balcony, minibar, direct dial telephone, cable TV and individually controlled air conditioning. They all overlook the gardens and the majority has panoramic views of the Madeiran mountains and the bay of Funchal.

The Quinta das Vistas Palace Gardens is surrounded by 12,000 square metres of gardens and centenary trees. These have been extensively landscaped into various gardens, such as the water garden, the garden of contemplation, the palm garden and the chef’s herb garden. Amongst the gardens, there is a fully homologated 9-hole mini-golf.

Although the center of town is only 15 minutes walk away, a courtesy bus service is offered.
