Amarilla Golf

On the south coast of Tenerife, just bordering the sea, we find the Amarilla Golf & Country Club. The character of the 18-hole course is marked by an incredible view of the Atlantic, which without a doubt has inspired golf course designer Donald Steel. The golf course, surrounded by ravines and dwellings, is a difficult challenge for golfers while at the same time offering an attractive and fun game for those with more modest ability. The course opened in 1989, and a year later Amariflla Golf hosted the second edition of the Tenerife Open, which is part of the European PGA Tour.

From the first tee, the player discovers the spectacular ocean views. After the second, third, and fourth holes, which are surrounded by a large variety of typical Canarian flora, enormous Canna Indica, the beautiful Washington Palmer and the very exclusive Pines, the most impressive part of the round reaches its peak on the fifth hole: This is really a gem for golf lovers, where the sea becomes a fairway, making it necessary to hit over the water to reach the green.
