A piece of advice when you're standing on the 13th tee and are waiting to tee off: turn on you heel and flirt with the ocean. It's majestic. The eye also reaches the fruit growing, forests and vineyards and provides a certain perspective on what is happening during the four-hour round. What about the golf? The character of the course changes half-way. The first nine holes are clear of trees in flat terrain, while the last nine take us in towards the club house on hilly ground. Don't think that you'll get an enjoyable start to the round. The first hole is one of South Africa's toughest opening holes with a curtsying dogleg and an elevated green that is surrounded by a dam and deep bunkers.
