Las Iguanas
Course Description: Also inside the luxurious Cap Cana tourist complex, this is the second course designed by Jack Nicklaus and its rounds include soft waves woven into views of the sea. It is scheduled to open in the spring of 2010. Three of its holes, numbers 12, 13 and 14 border the coast where the strong sea breezes will definitely play an important role in the game, challenging the best golfers. Las Iguanas shows constant movement along its fairways and greens. The meetings of the sea and the coast will challenge players at 14 of its 18 holes. The turf that is being used is “Seashore Paspalum Supreme”. The greens will give character to this golf course, as they are larger and more marked than those at Punta Espada, its neighboring course at Cap Cana. Located between the two courses is The Golden Bear Lodge, the luxury hotel designed by Jack Nicklaus himself and operated by AM Resorts under its “Zoetry Collection” brand. Las Iguanas' clubhouse will offer a bar, restaurant, library, golf shop, dressing rooms and lockers.
